Fits Air (8D) commenced operations in 1997 as a cargo airline, then in 2002 commenced operations to fly scheduled domestic flights in Sri Lanka. Fits Air continued extraordinary growth in the cargo and air freight sector and then in 2022 was awarded it's license and started scheduled international services from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Sri Lanka. They are the first and only airline designated by the Government of Sri Lanka to operate scheduled international passenger air service out of Sri Lanka. Currently they are operating a daily service from Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the UAE to Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) Sri Lanka Daily service between Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Sri Lanka and Chennai International Airport (MAA) in India Twice weekly service between Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Sri Lanka and Velana International Airport (MLE) Male in the Maldives Fits Air offers an all economy class service each adult or child passenger is entitled to 30kgs of checked baggage and 1 piece no more than 7kg of hand checked baggage. Snacks with hot and cold beverages are served on board for an additional charge and payment must be made via Visa, Mastercard or American Express cards only. Fits Air commence services to Singapore, Malaysia and Dhaka in Summer 23. Further expansion is planned for flights to Kuwait, Riyadh, Jeddah, Bangkok and Jakarta once they accept delivery of their new aircraft.
